Tackle Football
The Jefferson Youth Football League offers a competitive, public program for children entering 2nd grade through 8th grade at the start of the upcoming fall school year. We currently compete in the Morris County Youth Football League (MCYFL) - National Conference.
All coaches and volunteers are Rutgers SAFETY Clinic certified, and provide a great foundation for instilling hard work, determination, and discipline for all of our athletes.
Ages
Our programs are separated into the following:
Instructional Levels for 2nd through 4th Grades:
- Rumble: 2nd Grade
- Pre-Clinic: 3rd Grade
- Clinic: 4th Grade
Competitive Levels for 5th through 8th Grade:
- Super Pee Wee: 5th Grade
- Pee Wee: 6th Grade
- Junior Varsity: 7th Grade
- Varsity: 8th Grade
When
The Falcons Football season begins in August with conditioning and practice, however lookout for free clinics in July.
Our Games begin in September and playoffs for our Competitive Programs will come to a close in November.
Where
Practices will be held at one of the following:
- Lakeside Field Complex --- field assignments will be updated per team in the Crossbar App.
- Lakeside Field Complex & Jefferson High School for 8th Grade
Practices
Practices nights and times will be announced once the season approaches.
Games
Games will be held on Saturdays. Times will be updated per team and posted by Coaches.
All home games will be played at Lakeside Field.
All away games will be posted at beginning of the year and will be at various other towns.
Jerseys & Equipment
Helmet, shoulder pads, game pants will be provided for each player at equipment handout during the summer.
For the 2026 season we will have more info to come regarding player game jerseys...
The only additional equipment expected to be purchased by the families is a water bottle, mouth piece, cleats, cup, and girdle w/ pads.
